Description
A refined example of English Art Deco design, this compact cerused oak desk by Maple & Co., circa 1940, showcases understated elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. The oak surface is beautifully enhanced by a cerused finish, accentuating the natural grain in a subtle, linear pattern that adds depth and texture.
The desk features a practical arrangement with a single drawer with a bank of four graduated drawers beneath an open shelf, all fitted with sleek ebonized pulls that echo the bold ebonized base and feet. The contrast between the light oak and dark accents creates a sophisticated, balanced aesthetic characteristic of the period.
Its compact scale makes it ideal for a study, bedroom, or stylish workspace, offering both function and timeless appeal. A classic piece from Maple & Co., blending utility with the streamlined elegance of Art Deco design.
Kneehole measuring a height of 24". -
