Antique 18th Century onyx topped table
Italian, 18th Century

This coffee table was created in Italy in the 18th Century. It features a rectangular top, which is crafted from onyx and edged with porphyry. This table top is composed of bands of colours, including black, grey, white, brown and orange. This top is supported on a wooden apron, which is shaped and carved with seashell motifs. The table stands on four wooden cabriole legs, which feature carvings of stylised acanthus leaves and husk trails. The legs terminate in hoof feet.
