Description
Amazing Art Deco Macassar dining room set consisting of one expandable dining table and six appendant dining chairs, from France circa 1925.
Wonderful Macassar ebony wood (dark red-brown tone) veneered and lacquered in several layers of clear and black, high-gloss polished piano lacquer.
Two leaves / Inlay plates added with black piano lacquer and round edges (51 cm / 20.08" long, offer 2 more seats per side). Length closed: 167 cm / 65.75", expanded: 269 cm / 105.9 in)
Gorgeous Gondola shaped leg (also beautifully veneered) on black lacquered plinth. Two stabilizing black polished legs when expanded, that can be folded under the plate.
The chairs have the same beautiful Macassar veneer on both sides of the backrest. The frame and legs are black lacquered. Newly upholstered with fine white velvet fabric.
Table and chairs are only available together as a group. -

Origin: France Period: 1920-1949 Materials: Veneer Macassar, Polished Lacquer, Lacquered Wood, Metal, Velvet, Softwood. Condition: Good. Excellent restoration and lacquer (2 components).
