Description
Elegant French Neoclassical martini or drinks table, circa 1940, featuring an églomisé mirrored-glass top set within a finely detailed brass frame.
The circular top is bordered by a delicate beaded apron, adding a refined classical detail. Four slender fluted legs are embellished with turned accents and joined by an elegant X-form cross stretcher centered by a decorative finial.
The églomisé mirror retains its wonderful original character, with softly mottled silvering and variations in the mirrored surface that lend depth and authenticity to the piece. The brass has developed a warm, naturally aged patina consistent with its circa 1940 date.
With its graceful proportions and understated French elegance, this versatile table is ideal beside a chair or sofa as a martini or drinks table and would also work beautifully as a small occasional table. -
