Description
Trained by Tage Frid at the School for American Craftsmen at RIT, Jackson came to Philadelphia in 1964 to establish the woodworking department at the Philadelphia College of Art. He was one of the most prominent woodworkers and teachers in the 1960's and 1970's and remains one of the most important, yet unheralded figures in the Studio Furniture Movement due to his untimely death. See "Daniel Jackson: Dovetailing History," catalogue of the exhibition at The University of the Arts.
