Description
A Danish Louis XVI period painted wood console table from the early 19th century with two drawers, fluted motifs and tapered legs. Created in Denmark during the early years of the 19th century, this painted console table showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. The table features a rectangular top with rounded corners, sitting above a fluted apron consisting of two dovetailed drawers. It is raised on four tapered and fluted legs adorned with discreetly carved ring style motifs on the knees. The table is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark winters. It boasts a nicely distressed patina and some natural character revealing its age and use The sides and back are simply decorated with the fluted motifs seen in the front on the apron, thus creating a perfect visual continuity. With its clean Louis XVI lines and nicely weathered appearance that any antique aficionado will appreciate, this Danish painted console table circa 1800 will make for a great addition to any home, particularly placed in a living room or hallway! Please refer to the various additional photos for further condition detail and contact us with any questions!
