Description
This strikingly beautiful Art Deco Machine Age Expanding Leaf Dining Table in book matched Burled Carpathian Elm W/Black Lacquer & Brushed Aluminum Detailing by is the esteemed designer Donald Deskey for the Hastings Co. and originates from the United States, Circa 1935. This table features a minimal top surface in Burled & Book-matched Carpathian elm, supported by rectilinear legs in black lacquer with exposed curved wood and banded aluminum detailing adding material contrast and stability. This table expands to a width of 98" with both leaves extended. The leaves are integral, tucked underneath the top, and extend by gently sliding them out and aligning them with the table's surface. Designed by Donald Deskey, known for creating some of the most thoughtful and timeless Art Deco pieces, this table beautifully exemplifies the materials and motifs utilized during the Art Deco era and will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors. In Mint Restored Condition.
