English 19th Century Octagonal Table with Marble Top

A very unique Georgian-style, Chinoiserie-inspired octagonal-shape center table from 19th century England with a painted frame of cream-white and tan marble top. The marble surface has lovely veining of curious fossilized patterns in a range of beige, ochre, and ivory tones that shows light patina of wear with a few surface scratches. A thick apron hosts two drawers, and each side between the legs is accented with a handpainted design to create a paneled effect in a contrasting charcoal line. A series of turned legs supporting the top are similarly accented with intermittent black lines for subtle definition as the legs swell and taper down to the floor. If one is considering to use this piece as a card table, the opening to fit a chair is approximately 20” on each side.
