French 19th Century Mahogany & Marble Restauration Console
-
Description
Dimensions: 35 ⅛” H x 51 ⅝” W x 20 ½” D
An impressive 19th century French mahogany console made in the (French) Restauration style with a gray marble top, a drawer, and lower shelf for both storage and display. The marble exhibits dense striations in a range of gray tones and wisps of white, shaped to rounded front corners over a hidden drawer that also functions as the table’s apron. A double row of ebonized inlay emphasizes the wide but shallow proportions of the case animated by the incredible grain patterns of the mahogany continuing down the S-scrolled front legs to emerge as clawed feet. The table base, a concave-front lower shelf, is slightly raised on round bun feet. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax–ready for your interior.
