An expertly carved and painted vanity, done in the Louis XVI style circa 1870 that features a tilting mirror, three drawers, and an inset marble top. A characteristically asymmetrical tied ribbon is perched atop the mirror, with more scrolled carved details found all about the piece. The antique mirror plate, held between two fluted posts with finials and brackets- features a generous amount of foxing. The two small drawers on the vanity surface are topped with scrolling acanthus leaves and carved drapery details between them. The inset colorful marble top surface has been cracked and professionally repaired. The vanity surface is 29-⅜”H. The paneled apron with carved pearl borders houses a single drawer with a dainty drop ring pull. Apron knee clearance is 25-¼”. At each of the corners, flanking the drawer, are carved floret dies. The whole is raised on four columnar fluted legs with toupee-style feet and complete this sweet table. Make sure to view the detailed images of this beautifully patinated vanity.
