Description
Gio Ponti Attributed Milanese Walnut Game Table with Glass Top, circa 1940
An exceptionally sleek modernist Gio Ponti Attributed square game which features a deep brown glass top, framed by a warm, rich and robust walnut surround. Dynamic and elegant splayed legs taper downward ending in striking elongated brass sabots, creating a light, floating profile. Thoughtfully crafted for gaming, the apron conceals four wooden swivel drawers, one at each corner which offer discreet storage for playing cards and game pieces. Elegant and versatile, it functions beautifully as a game table or a sophisticated accent table or small dining table for any room in the house. The rich walnut creates a striking contrast with the deep brown glass and the vibrant brass sabot. Expertly crafted, this piece is a great example of the refined and unique designs of Gio Ponti. Original glass.
