Description
A restrained composition of timber and glass, where proportion and material carry the narrative. This table reflects a quiet confidence, rooted in Italian craftsmanship and a respect for structure.
Design
The table is made from solid Slavonian oak, showing a lively grain that gives warmth to its otherwise clear and structured form. The square top holds a recessed glass panel, allowing a view through the piece and adding a sense of openness. Below, a second glass level repeats this idea and offers practical space for books or objects. The thick legs anchor the design and connect to the frame with carefully executed joinery that remains visible on close inspection. Small details, such as the slightly softened edges and the way the glass sits within the frame, show a focus on making rather than decoration.
The piece bears the mark “Officina Rivadossi”, confirming its origin and linking it to a workshop known for working with solid wood in a direct and honest way. This table fits within that approach and works well as a central piece in a seating area.
A composed and balanced object that bridges rustic materiality with a considered modernist layout. Its presence is calm yet deliberate, offering both function and visual rhythm.
Condition
The condition is very good, with light signs of use consistent with age. Minor surface wear can be observed on the wood and faint marks on the glass, without affecting its overall appearance. -
