Description
HOLLYWOOD REGENCY BRUSHED STEEL, POLISHED BRASS AND BLACK MARBLE PEDESTAL TABLE
In the manner of Maison Jansen | circa mid 20th century
38 3/8" H x 16 1/8" marble top diameter
An incredibly sleek and striking pedestal table in the manner and quality of Maison Jansen from the Hollywood Regency era, this minimalist table is designed with a 38 3/8" height making it ideal as a display piece: for sculpture or as a plant stand. The rich polished black marble top is held in place with only gentle pressure applied by the brass ram horns on three sides, these popping beautifully against the black marble and the matte brushed texture of the steel legs. A brass ring hangs from the mouth of each ram while the table rests over cast brass hoofed sabots. A solid brass circular machined element locks the legs firmly together in the center, a clever design feature that allows the table to hold a great deal of weight without concern.
Austere and minimal, this is a classic form that works perfectly in a layered "maximalist" setting and equally well in an austere modernist setting. Useful in so many scenarios.
Condition Report:
Trace oxidization to steel; minor scuffs and abrasions to marble top. Carefully polished and cleaned. Overall in very good original condition.
