Italian Neoclassical Walnut Side Table with Carved Satyr Mounts

Offered by: Babou New York

Description
Italian Neoclassical Walnut Side Table with Carved Satyr Mounts, circa 1800

An exquisite Italian Neoclassical side table crafted from warm, richly grained walnut, showcasing the balance and restraint characteristic of the period. Resting on slender, elegant square tapered legs, the table features clean architectural lines offset by striking carved wooden corner mounts depicting faun or satyr masks spilling into oak leaf trail motif cascades. The rectangular top displays a subtle, dark line inset border framing the figured wood, highlighting the fine patination developed over centuries. Functioning equally well as a writing desk, console, or accent table, this piece offers a refined synthesis of classical mythic motifs and timeless Neoclassical structure.
Northern Italy, circa 1800
