Description
This stunning and dramatic modernist cocktail table was realized by the esteemed 20th century designer Lorin Marsh in the United States circa 1987. Sittings on brass castors, the piece offers cylindrical mahogany legs capped in brass with a generously apportioned bookmatched walnut apron. Sculptural rectangular channeled embellishments sit at either end of the cocktail table, while graphic x form supports undergird it. The top is composed of a rectilinear top in shagreen ecru with a overlaid grid pattern in bone white. Combining elements of avant garde modernism with design motifs from Art Deco, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior. With its beautiful mixture of sumptuous materials, impeccable construction, and clean modernist lines, it is sure to delight discerning enthusiasts of great 20th century design, as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. The shagreen topic in excellent vintage condition, the mahogany has been newly refinshed. Please note we have the original bill of sale from 1987.
