Louis XVI-Style Double-Sided Wood and Brass Bureau Plat with Leather Top

Elegant Louis XVI-style double-sided flat desk crafted in figured wood and accented throughout with refined brass details. The writing surface and two side pull-outs are inset with replaced black leather, finely decorated with gilt tooling. A brass molding elegantly frames the edge of the top. The front opens to reveal four drawers, including a double-depth drawer on the right. Three drawers are key-operated with functioning locks, while the fourth opens discreetly by means of a button. Brass rods outline the drawer fronts and continue along the sides and finished back, allowing the desk to stand freely within a room. Fluted front uprights are embellished with brass inlay. Four tapered, fluted legs feature decorative collars at the top, brass-filled channels, and finely cast brass sabots, completing the desk’s balanced, architectural silhouette.
