Pair of Swedish Klismos Chairs, Wood and Fabric, 20th Century Design

A pair of Swedish klismos chairs, 20th century, after the most elegant seat form of classical antiquity. The klismos, with its curved saber legs and gracefully swept backrest, was revived by neoclassical designers and has never lost its currency; Swedish interpretations are prized for rendering the form with particular lightness and restraint. This pair displays the characteristic sweeping profile, comfortable and sculptural from every angle, that makes klismos chairs equally effective flanking a console, at a writing table, or as dining end chairs. Their clean lines let them move effortlessly between antique-furnished rooms and sharply contemporary ones. The chairs are solid and ready for use, with wear consistent with age.

This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions!
