Maison Charles Brass and Glass Coffee Table, France, Circa 1970
-
Description
A brass and glass cocktail table by Maison Charles et Fils, Paris, circa 1970, the square brass grand frame comprising 5 square glass surfaces at the very top with an additional 8 glass surfaces in graduating levels. The glass all original, with canted corners, the brass a wonderful warm and golden finish with great patina. A spectacular piece with great geometric form, ideal for large entertaining spaces and displays of books and sculpture. It is a grand piece but does not overwhelm because of the transparency of the glass, complemented by the warmth of the brass.
