1980s Tessellated Stone Round Coffee Table, Maitland-Smith Style

A striking vintage round coffee table dating to the 1980s, featuring a geometric tessellated stone top supported by an architectural antiqued-metal base. The table is unmarked and is presented in the style of Maitland-Smith.

Measuring an impressive 44 inches in diameter, the substantial circular top is assembled from individual pieces of creamy ivory-toned natural stone. Contrasting stone inlay forms an intricate pattern of intersecting arcs and pointed geometric motifs around a spacious central field. The stone continues over the deep apron, giving the tabletop a beautifully finished appearance from every angle.

The antiqued metal base is equally distinctive, composed of slender columnar legs joined by gracefully curved and intersecting stretchers. Its intentionally aged, crackled finish complements the neutral stone while adding depth, texture and Old World character.

CONDITION
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear. The tessellated stone top displays natural variations in color, tone and texture. One nick is present along the edge of the top, as documented in the photographs. The antiqued metal base retains its intentionally aged, crackled finish with associated wear and variations.
