Pair of Danish Neoclassical Painted Demilune Console Tables, circa 1920

A refined pair of Danish demilune console tables dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920. Each table features a graceful half-moon form with a dark contrasting top above a painted apron decorated with delicate carved neoclassical motifs.
The tables are raised on four slender, tapered legs with restrained carved detailing. The softly distressed painted finish reveals areas of the underlying surface, giving the pair an appealing aged character while emphasizing their elegant Scandinavian proportions.
Designed to sit flush against a wall, these demilune tables are particularly well suited for an entry hall, living room, dining room, or positioned symmetrically on either side of a doorway or architectural feature.
