Description
Enhance your living space with the bold and striking Mid-Century Brutalist "Ortega" Textured Mixed Metal Cocktail Table, signed by renowned artist Silas Seandel. Crafted in America in 1973, this remarkable piece is a testament to the innovative and avant-garde spirit of Brutalist design.
This cocktail table is a true work of art, featuring a dynamic composition of mixed metals. The textured surfaces and rugged geometric forms create an eye-catching visual contrast, embracing the raw and expressive qualities characteristic of the Brutalist movement. The table's unique design highlights Seandel's mastery in manipulating metals to achieve intricate textures and complex forms.
The "Ortega" table stands out not just for its aesthetic appeal, but also for its functional artistry. The robust metal base supports a sleek glass top, providing both stability and a clear view of the stunning sculptural elements below. The juxtaposition of these materials adds to the table's dramatic presence and allows it to serve as a centerpiece in any modern or eclectic interior.
Silas Seandel's signature on the piece assures its authenticity and adds a layer of provenance, making it a prized addition for collectors of mid-century design. Known for his innovative techniques and bold designs, Seandel's works are highly sought after by those who appreciate the intersection of art and furniture.
Hand crafted and studio-made in NYC by Silas Seandel, this table is made of 13 hand-cut solid bronze arcs all welded together into the form you see here. Each arc was meticulously brazed, with melted bronze marks all over the table. This provides a super interesting texture and accentuates the warm hand-made look. This table comes with the original glass top. It's a beautiful top, with rounded edges and corners, and plays super well with the feel of the table. Dynamic, dramatic, and iconic, this table is one of the pieces gave the Seandel name the prestige it now has. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
Signed on one of the topmost arcs: "Silas Seandel 73" -
