Description
A clear and thoughtful design, this dining table by Silvio Coppola shows how form and function can work together without excess. Produced by Montina, it reflects a period in Italian design where structure and usability were closely connected.
Design
The table is made from solid oak, with a warm tone and a well-defined grain running across the top. Its surface is built from three triangular panels that meet in the centre, creating a simple geometric layout. These panels can be lifted, revealing a metal tray hidden beneath. This detail adds a practical layer to the design and introduces a subtle point of interest. The edges are slightly rounded, softening the overall shape. Underneath, the base is formed by intersecting supports that give the table a stable and grounded appearance. The construction feels direct and honest, with an emphasis on proportion and material rather than decoration. Coppola’s work often focused on clarity, and this table follows that idea through its straightforward structure.
A well-balanced piece that offers both everyday use and a small, unexpected feature within its design.
Condition
The table has been fully restored in our workshop and is presented in very good condition. The surface and structure have been carefully treated, with only minimal traces of age visible. -
