Description
A Swedish console table from around 1880, featuring a beautifully aged two-tone finish and elegant detailing. The rectangular top is painted in a soft taupe with subtle marbling, framed by a shallow gallery edge that adds refinement and functionality.
Below, a single wide drawer with original brass escutcheon provides useful storage, flanked by hand-carved floral drops that speak to the table’s Gustavian roots. The base is painted in matte black with a timeworn patina that reveals traces of the pine beneath, lending depth and authenticity.
The legs are finely turned and tapered, adding a sense of delicacy and vertical lift. With its light-over-dark contrast and well-preserved materials, this console makes a quietly striking statement in an entryway, bedroom, or study. A graceful blend of form and function rooted in 19th-century Swedish craftsmanship.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
