Description
Created by André Vassort for Van Cleef & Arpels Paris circa 1968, this carved coral and diamond bracelet is mounted in 18K gold. Each pavé-set diamond and domed, ribbed coral link is flanked by foliate and bead motifs. In this classic late 1960s Van Cleef & Arpels design, the diamonds offer a sparkling contrast to the appealing color and textural palette of smoothly carved coral and gleaming gold.
Dimensions: 7.00" length
Materials: Carved coral; 18 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximate total weight 1.62 carats); 18K Gold
Gram Weight: 45.9
Signed: VCA C 750 68 106774, French Assay marks, André Vassort maker's mark
Vassort was among those manufacturers of high style work for Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, and Cartier whose skill and discretion were essential to Place Vendôme jewelers' glamor and magic, yet whose personal circumstances remain mysterious. Like the signatures of the great maisons, Vassort's maker's mark is yet another signifier of its aesthetic and cultural value. -
