Description
This little treasure is by far one of the most interesting pieces of antique jewelry that we have ever come across...The Monkey with the movable spectacles is rendered in Gold and Platinum and is fully three dimensional. His glasses are made of diamonds and his eyes are rubies. His glasses can be flipped up or down to read his book. The unusual brooch is a viewable object from every angle. The details are simply amazing! Even the leaves of the book that he is holding is shown as separated. This is museum quality and without a doubt a unique objet d'art. The book he is perusing has a French inscription which I cannot read but perhaps someone else can shed the light. ( It has something to do with animals.) Although not marked for gold or platinum content, it has been fully tested. Measures 2" high x 1" wide and 1" depth. Weighs approximately 35.3 g
