Created in the 1930s, this Art Moderne ruby and diamond ring is set in platinum. It is designed as two large pave-set diamond scrolls with stepped edges, accented with lines of calibré-cut rubies. A small, exquisite jewel exemplifying the Art Moderne period, this strong design has an outside sculptural presence on the finger.

A jewel of refined workmanship, this ring was inspired by the high style jewelry of the Parisian Art Moderne. In inspiration and handicraft, it resembles the work of jewelers like Dusausoy, Mouboussin, and Boucheron, who emphasized the sweep of high relief curved surfaces and the interplay opposing planes in their jewels of this period.
