Carl Fagerlund

Swedish, 1915 - 2011
Carl Fagerlund (1915-2011) was a Swedish glass artist and designer who worked for the Finnish glass company Orrefors in the mid-20th century. Fagerlund was known for his innovative use of textures and patterns in glass, as well as his ability to create unique and sculptural forms.

Fagerlund joined Orrefors in 1946, and soon became one of the company's most celebrated designers. He worked on a wide range of glassware, including vases, bowls, and lamps, and often incorporated abstract and organic motifs in his designs.

One of Fagerlund's most famous designs is the "Kraka" series of bowls, which he created for Orrefors in the 1950s. The bowls feature a distinctive crinkled texture that gives them a sculptural appearance, and are highly sought-after by collectors of mid-century Scandinavian glass.

Fagerlund's work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, and his designs continue to be highly prized by collectors and design enthusiasts.
