Description
This rare table lamp was designed by Carl Fagerlund and produced by Orrefors in Sweden during the 1950s. The lamp is marked with the model number RD 1983 and "Orrefors Sweden" on a metal plate attached to the bulb fitting, as well as signed on the bottom of the base.
The substantial yet elegant design consists of a heavy brass base with a circular foot and a central tubular brass stem. The body of the lamp is decorated with seven vertically stacked, disc-shaped glass elements. The drum-shaped shade has been renewed in an ivory-colored fabric with a silk texture.
The lamp is in very good original condition, with the brass showing a natural and even patina. The shade is completely new. It currently features 220V wiring and plug, compatible with standard E26/E27 bulbs.
