Description
A Chinese pottery figure (Ni Yong) from Han Dynasty, most likely from the period. It depicts a groom figure with attires and harness in hand. Soft facial expression still remain quite lively. In a custom designed stand. This kind of pottery figure fired at low temperature without any glazing is popular in Han dynasty before porcelain was experimented, and they were likely made for funeral purpose as part of the burial ceremony to have daily objects to accompany the deceased to the afterlife.
Antique condition, losses as shown, earth crust throughout, stress crackles, residue wood inserted in one of the leg, likely from a previous base display. With a handwritten old paper stick with description and price as shown. - More Information
