Description
Sweet peach table lamps with glass by Muller and interesting ironwork are a find! How rare to have a pair and these are perfect for bedside nightstands, either end of a buffet or mantle.
French pressed and carved glass of the Art Deco period achieved great fame with designers such as Lalique, Degue, Sabino and this company- Muller Freres. The Mullers began their business in the late 1890s and flourished though the 1930s. Members of the Muller family had worked with the most renown glass artist of the early Art Nouveau era, Emile Galle, and the early work of Muller Freres was reminiscent of his style.
In 1919, they purchased and resumed production at Grandes Verreries de Croismare which had been discontinued during the first world war. It is important to note that it is not just “two brothers” but many family members of three generations that worked in glass creations. They became some of the most prolific designers of the 1920s and 30s and their chandeliers, lamps and vases both lyrical and geometric are highly prized today.
Our pair of lamps has been rewired with cloth cords with button switches and are ready to add a romantic glow to your room. -
