Ligne Roset Co.

French, 1860
In 1860, in Montagnieu, in the Ain province of France, Antoine Roset and his son Emile began producing umbrellas, walking sticks and chair frames at their wood processing factory. Many of their works were known by the Maison Roset brand. In the post war years, Antoine's grandson Jean Roset begins contracting for furniture. The Ligne Roset name became official in 1973. That same year, Michel Ducaroy joined the firm, where he created his most famous design, the Togo sofa. The Togo was a groundbreaking piece of furniture that featured a distinctive, low-slung design and was upholstered in soft, pliable foam that conformed to the body's shape. The Togo quickly became a sensation and helped to establish Ligne Roset as a leading manufacturer of modern, innovative furniture. Today, the brand is known for quality furniture worldwide.
