Michel Ducaroy

Michel Ducaroy was a French industrial designer and architect who is best known for his innovative furniture designs. Born in 1925 in Lyon, France, Ducaroy studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris before embarking on a career in furniture design. In 1973, he joined the furniture company Ligne Roset, where he created his most famous design, the Togo sofa. The Togo was a groundbreaking piece of furniture that featured a distinctive, low-slung design and was upholstered in soft, pliable foam that conformed to the body's shape. The Togo quickly became a sensation and helped to establish Ligne Roset as a leading manufacturer of modern, innovative furniture. In addition to the Togo, Ducaroy also created a range of other furniture designs, including chairs, tables, and lamps.
