    Burmese Alabaster Buddha 19th to 20th century, Mandalay Period (1853-1948). Extremely well captured and polished features, exceptional piece. Gold leaf with black lacquer over Alabaster. 17 inches tall with out stand, on black wood stand 19 inches. Wooden Black stand included size of platform is 14x9x2H.

    Condition is excellent.

    The Mandalay Buddhist period is was one of the greatest Buddhist periods in all history of Buddhist art in Myanmar. Mandalay Buddhist period was considered as the center of the Buddhist universe. Burmese Art in this period widely prospered all around the eastern Asian countries and even influenced many Buddhist styles in the later generation.
