Galerie Philia is set to make a big splash with their debut presentation at the prestigious Collectible design fair, which runs from March 5–8 in Brussels, Belgium. The gallery will be unveiling new, never-before-see collectible design works created especially for the show, with a focus on striking examples of seating, tables, lighting and decorative accessories. Objects were chosen for their universal, cross-cultural appeal and aptitude to communicate visually across a diverse design aesthetic.

Interior designers, collectors and design aficionados looking to discover unique and very limited edition pieces have attended previous iterations of Collectible in droves, and this, the third edition, is expected to surpass previous years in both scope and attendance. Design is now regarded as equal in importance to art, and venues such as Collectible are bringing it to the forefront, showcasing the works of 21st century studios and artists in a global perspective.

Gallery Philia’s director Y. Attali, who curated the selection, had this to say:

“Collectible is a rare show because it presents contemporary design in an immersive environment. Gallery Philia’s selection is focused on contemporary sculptural design — artworks that are at the nexus of furniture and art — so this show corresponds perfectly with our gallery's aesthetic. We are especially excited to announce that every one of our artists will be appearing at the show, and we want to take the opportunity to introduce them to our collectors. The objects we are presenting are all remarkable, cutting-edge works of art that are also functional design pieces, and we look forward to sharing these fantastic examples of the fluid and evolving intersection of art and design, such as Evan Fay’s poetic “Lawless Chair,” a celebration of spontaneity within the structure of utility.”
