Description
A rare and beautiful pair of 1950s 'Maschere' (Masks) bookends designed by the incomparable Piero Fornasetti. The bookends each depict a Greek theatrical mask, (tragedy), and are executed in black and gold leaf, presented on a red coloured background. In great condition, each of the bookends retain their original protective red felt base where upon they are signed, "Fornasetti Milano - Made in Italy".
