Description
Kenneth Hayes Miller paints his iconic wide eye female sitting nude in a traditional formal pose. Her right leg is partially draped. She looks up and out pondering. Her index finger penetrates a circular loop formed in her orange coral necklace. In the background, Miller uses conventional perspective to lead the viewer into a deeper space, thru an open door, into a bedroom with an awaiting empty bed and two pillows. In prudish 1920's America, Miller is subtlety suggesting the thought of intercourse. He presents us with a daydreaming voluptuous unashamed nude, a bed, and a finger going into a hole. Best viewed with direct key light to bring out colors. Provenance: Bonhams & Butterfields, ACA Galleries, Michael Rosenfeld Gallery - Signed and dated lower left
