Description
This stunning High Style Art Deco pendant chandelier was realized in France by master Émile Jacques Ruhlmann- one of the most celebrated and influential designers in history- for "Galerie Le Bon Marché" circa 1920. Designed by Ruhlmann and manufactured by Holophane, this chandelier offers a wealth of geometric and cubist motifs, including a faceted conical canopy full of volumetric triangular forms that connect sto the original striated rod, all in lustrous bronze. The rod attaches to a convex ovoid body with beveled triangular cubist forms also in bronze with alternating negative spaces, imbuing the piece with a subtle dynamism transparency. The streamlined striated prismatic glass shades that hang above the textured translucent rectilinear bottom shade with a circular mouth are supported by skyscraper style embellishments in bronze. This chandeliers os as iconic as it is stunning, sure to delight discerning collectors of the period as well as those with a penchant for exquisite objects. Its clean lines and beautiful detailing make it as versatile as it is gorgeous, blending with any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. They are also available as a set of three for $34975.
