Description
A late English George II, early George III period hall seat of 'sgabello' form having carved mahogany frame, the lancet and quatrefoil pierced shaped back with painted armorial of gauntleted forearm clenching short sword and Latin inscription in round buckled frame, the dished shaped seat raised on shaped splayed supports, the front quatrefoil-pierced, with internal stretcher.

Origin: England Period: 18th Century Materials: Hand-carved and painted mahogany, iron Condition: Good. The painted armorial likely refreshed or repainted late 19th-century and is distressed with Latin inscription partially obscured. Early 19th-century iron support brace to reverse front left support.
