Description
This dynamic and sophisticated modernist sculpture was realized by the esteemed artist Dan Bedik in the United States circa 1990. Entitled "Musical Embrace", this piece- executed in exotic green marble offering russet and jade hues- suggests a stylized and abstracted treble clef form. Rising from an elongated volumetric convex base in hand rubbed walnut, this amorphic form offers a totemic form with figurative connotations. The sinuously curved body capped with an orbital detail from which an open form arch connects may indicate a stylized musician playing a saxophone (or other wind instrument). Alternately, the sculpture could read as a sophisticated and whimsical abstraction whose melodic lines recall how the harmonies of music can captivate a listener (hence the title). Whatever one's interpretation of the piece, it is an immaculately crafted and irresistibly compelling modern art work sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate fine art, as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. Its refined color palate, clean modernist lines, and immaculate surfaces, make this piece as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
