Description
A Maple Burl coiffeuse with a Shagreen top and Nickel Plated Brass. This Vanity features a flip-top mirror and four drawers with Celluloid knobs. It was designed in France by Louis Jallot in 1935.
Louis Jallot was a prominent French Art Deco designer and decorator who worked during 1920s and 1930s. He was known for his innovative use of materials and his bold, geometric designs that combined classical motifs with modernist forms. Some of his most famous works include the interior of the Grand Salon of the legendary French liner "Normandie" and the fittings and furnishing of the renowned Trasantlique ocean liner. He was also a member of the prestigious French arts group, the Union des Artistes Modernes. Today, Jallot's art deco pieces are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. -
