Description
Sergio Asti (Milan, May 25, 1926 - Milan, July 27, 2021) was an Italian architect and designer.
In the field of Industrial Design he was among the first in the 1950s to address this issue. He was among the founders of ADI. He has taught courses related to ADI at the Higher Institute of Art in Venice and, abroad, at the Higher Experimental Institute in Shizuoka, Japan. He has given numerous lectures and been a member of Round Tables in Italy and abroad, particularly in France, Germany, Portugal, the United States, Japan, China, India and Thailand. He has participated in numerous Juries for Architecture and I.D. Competitions in Italy and abroad. Many objects designed by Sergio Asti are in the collections of the most important Museums, and in private collections. Many are the awards received on various occasions: Triennale in Milan, Compasso d'Oro, MoMA in New York, Philadelphia Museum, Bienale Industrijskega Oblikovanja in Ljubljana. He has been invited on several occasions to hold Group and Solo Exhibitions: in Italy, Canada, the United States, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Brazil, France.
Here we have a pair of table lamps made in white marble and with a peculiar shape during the 70s. It is interesting their lighting effect when they are turned on, a great and soft warm light for very intimate ambients.
Good condition, fully original.
The lighting system can be rewired to US standards upon request. -
