Description
A French Louis XV style cherry rafraîchissoir side table with royal rouge marble top inset, coolers, single drawer and lower shelf from the mid 19th century. Born in the years that saw the birth of the Second Empire, this French rafraîchaissoir (literally refresher) was designed to accommodate two removable buckets for bottles and ice. The red marble top is sitting above a single drawer opening with a wooden pull. The apron is scalloped on all sides, allowing this piece to be seen from all angles. The lower shelf was dedicated to receiving plates. The ensemble is raised on four cabriole legs, whose delicate curves are inspired by the Louis XV era. With its graceful Silhouette, warm patina and lovely marble top, this French rafraîchissoir circa 1850 will be an excellent addition in any room, used as a side table.
