Description
This striking, large mirror was produced by Glas Mäster in Markaryd, Sweden, in the late 1960s. This generously sized rectangular mirror can be placed as floor mirror and can also be installed as a wall mirror (hanging wire is installed on the reverse). The sculptural, carved frame is executed in solid pine wood, with a naturally developed patina over time. The frame is a great combination of the more rustic, cottage aesthetic of the Swedish Modern era and the more expressive, brutalist carved style of the wood.
The mirror is in good original condition, the wood with a natural patina and minor wear consistent with age. The mirror glass in overall good condition with 2 small light scratches. -
