An Elegant Pair of French Midcentury Modern Floor Lamps in Hand Stitched Mottled Dark Red / Burgundy Leather by the French Master 20th Century Designer, Jacques Adnet circa 1955. This classic hand made model from the renowned French designer, Jacques Adnet is sought after as an icon of design and refined taste. It has a unique profile featuring a weighted cone shaped base and a cone shaped shade united by a straight, and, then sublime curving stem. It is magic for eyes in its form, proportions, scale and balance. Furthermore, their craftsmanship is at the highest level in their hand-stitched construction. And, a pair in a mottled dark red / burgundy color is an absolute rarity! H 58.5" x Diameter of the base alone: 8.5”.
Jacques Adnet was one of the most important designers in France during the 1925 to 1970 periods. He achieved worldwide fame and his work embraced several movements including French Art Deco, Modernism and Neoclassicism.
