Description
An Italian walnut, mahogany and cherry commode from the 18th century with three drawers and beautiful marquetry décor. Discover the timeless elegance of this exquisite Italian commode from the 18th century. Crafted from walnut, mahogany, and cherry wood, this remarkable piece features three drawers and showcases stunning marquetry décor.
The commode's rectangular top is adorned with a beautifully bookmatched veneer, creating a mesmerizing symmetrical pattern. At the center, a captivating marquetry ring motif adds a touch of sophistication. Thin banding further enhances the refined look of the piece, while rounded corners in the front contribute to its graceful silhouette.
The facade is composed of three drawers, each with its own distinct charm. The narrow top drawer is adorned with intricate inlay that imitates fluted motifs, adding a sense of elegance. The two larger drawers below feature striking arrow-inspired inlay, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of the period.
Adding to its allure, the commode boasts a delicately carved apron on three sides, infusing the piece with subtle artistic flair. The sides of the commode are adorned with diamond motifs surrounding an oval medallion, and present a visual separation that harmoniously complements the design of the front. The back of the commode is left unfinished, showcasing the craftsmanship that went into its creation.
Completing the look, the commode is raised on slightly curving legs, adding a touch of sophistication to its overall appearance. The combination of the rich walnut, mahogany, and cherry wood, along with the intricate marquetry and delicate carvings, makes this Italian commode a true masterpiece of 18th-century design. -
