Large Irving Rosenzweig Figurative Abstract Oil Painting
Offered for sale is a late 20th-century overscaled figurative abstract oil painting on canvas by the listed American artist Irving Rosenzweig (1915-1983). This work encompasses great composition and impasto texture techniques. The work uses vivid colors and is nicely presented in the original vintage frame.
Irving Rosenzweig was an American figurative abstract painter known for his New York City-themed paintings overlaid with strong color and pattern. Rosenzweig was born in Brooklyn and served in the Army. The painter studied at the Pratt Institute, the Art Students League, in Florence, Paris, and Barcelona. He exhibited at the Whitney Museum in 1967, the National Academy of Design, the Jersey City Museum, Hofstra University, Brooklyn College, and Oklahoma State University He moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL from around 1980 until his death in about 1983.
