Description
Mid Century French Modernist Credenza Sideboard in the style of Gaston Poisson. Spectacular French Mid Century Modernist Sideboard composed of mahogany with brass details. A large scale credenza - sideboard with excellent storage having two drawers with shelfs behind the doors. Exceptional design emphasizing bold lines and maximizing dimension. Sitting atop a plinth base raised with block turned feet. A modern rectangular box outlined in a wide radius edged frame, topped with dramatic raised platforms. Protruding square door plates on raised moldings with brass details. All these lines are clean yet bold adding a dimensional aesthetic showcasing expert carpentry. A statement piece in any setting, an impressive sideboard. In very good condition. Having gaps in the protruding moldings of the door plates and alignment. Not detracting this is a true solid mahogany piece of furniture which has experienced some expansion and contraction movement to the solid wood over its 80 + year life span. The gaps are pictured when looking at the close ups of the doors. Some scuffs, to corners, base, commensurate with age and use. Knobs have been added, original locks removed for easy access. Will ship with original locks and key that can be reinstalled, easily. Original finish in very good condition.
