Description
The Bambole collection, crafted by the iconic Italian designer Mario Bellini, is a hallmark of mid-century design and was honored with the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1979. This particular two-seater, known as the Bibambola, captures attention with its playful, inviting silhouette that beckons you to relax in its embrace.
Design
The piece we present is an early edition featuring a metal frame encased entirely in polyurethane. The cognac leather upholstery showcases an exceptional patina, offering a soft, luxurious touch. Its rich brown tones are complemented by an array of subtle color variations, creating a dynamic interplay between light and shadow across the leather’s folds and curves. This interplay enhances the sofa's natural luster and highlights the timeless character of this vintage gem. Unlike newer models, this Bibambola exudes a charm that has matured gracefully over decades. The bottom bears the distinctive B&B Italia logo and a handwritten serial number, affirming its authenticity.
Condition
Recently restored and reupholstered with meticulous care, this sofa retains the original spirit of its design while honoring the texture and feel of the materials. A true collector’s piece, it embodies both the elegance of its era and the enduring appeal of thoughtful craftsmanship. -
