Description
This rare four-arm chandelier was designed by Paavo Tynell in the early 1930s. It was produced by Taito Oy in Finland and is documented in Taito's catalogue as model number 1444.
The striking design features a brass body with four slightly curved arms, each ending in a circular brass bulb holder. The arms are attached to a circular central element, which is decorated with a round finial at the bottom. A flared tube-shaped break and a tubular brass stem complete the body.
The four cylindrical shades are intricately handcrafted from vertical slats of European aspen wood, creating a beautiful atmospheric effect when the lamp is illuminated.
The lamp is in very good original condition, with the brass developing a natural and even patina. The wiring has been checked, and the lamp is fully functional. -
