Description
Beautiful coffee table, probably made to order by a French interior designer in the 1980s. Natural bamboo as the chief material, the patterned marquetry on the table top creates a beautiful symmetry, with an organic aesthetic, while the bright polished brass on the hooping and base adds an eye-catching touch. This table was purchased in Cannes, and the design is typical French Riviera, bamboo and brass being a signature of the region’s aesthetic in the 1970s and 1980s. The table has been fully restored, the top lacquered with a transparent lacquer, and the brass repolished. A beautiful piece, with a very nice decorative presence.
